Virginia Data Center Solar Power Projects

Due to the explosive growth of data centers in Virginia and the Mid-Atlantic, there is a critical need for new power sources. Solar power, especially behind-the-meter solar installations co-located with data centers, is the fastest and most scalable option to meet immediate power demands. These solar projects can be developed and brought online within 18 to 24 months, providing dedicated power to hyperscale data centers requiring 100 to 150 MW. Battery storage is also integrated to add flexibility and resilience. Other energy options like natural gas, small modular reactors, wind, and hydrogen fuel cells have longer development timelines, making solar the most practical near-term solution.
