Virginia River Trail Shared User Path (Paul Reynolds to Majors Path)

This shared-use path is the only active transportation route from the Airport Heights neighbourhood to other parts of the city. Paul Reynolds Centre is a popular recreation centre and community destination. The route connects several neighbourhoods, shops, restaurants and destinations along the way. The scope of the work includes design and construction. Design work includes stakeholder engagement. Construction work includes clearing and grubbing, removing existing trail surface, removing and replacing fencing, fill and grading, installing a new trail surface, and reinstating the trail edge. The project includes the construction of rest areas, trailheads, signage and wayfinding. It includes landscaping and may include lighting along the path. Existing access paths from nearby streets will be upgraded, and additional access paths may be created. Street crossings and intersections will be upgraded to create a continuous and comfortable route.
