Description | Virginia Shrimp Farms, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Blue Ridge Aquaculture, is developing large-scale shellfish production using Recirculating Aquaculture Systems (RAS) with research assistance from Virginia Tech. The project includes a 30,000 ft2 research facility completed in 2007 with state-of-the-art equipment for developing production technologies for fish and shellfish species in RAS. The facility supports research and development prior to commercial facility construction. |
