Description
Description | The VISUAL-EU project aims to enhance knowledge and visibility of the European Union’s values, policies, and initiatives within Polish Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) and other EU/non-EU HEIs. By using visually engaging and interactive teaching methods, the project will foster a deeper understanding of the EU’s role in education, governance, and society. The project will deliver 100 hours of lectures and 260 hours of workshops during winter and summer schools at the University of Economics and Human Sciences in Warsaw (UEHS). The project’s objectives include developing an interactive digital platform (VISUAL-EU Hub) to provide visually engaging resources, including infographics, case studies, and discussion forums; designing and delivering interdisciplinary modules focused on visually representing EU topics; conducting research on visual-based pedagogical methods and their effectiveness in teaching EU-related content; and disseminating the project’s findings through the digital platform, research outputs, events, and policy guidelines. The project will culminate in the creation of recommendations titled “Visualization of the EU at Polish HEIs” for Polish ministries and public authorities to support the integration of EU values in education. The project targets Polish HEIs (students, teachers, administrators), civil society organizations, policymakers, researchers, media representatives, and the wider public across Poland and other EU/non-EU countries. Activities are organized into four pillars: developing the VISUAL-EU Hub; teaching four interdisciplinary modules covering EU governance, digital storytelling, EU values, and citizenship; publishing eight research articles and four policy briefs; and disseminating results through digital platforms, conferences, and roundtable discussions. Expected outcomes include the VISUAL-EU Hub, a syllabus and four comprehensive teaching resources, eight research articles, four policy briefs, and policy recommendations. |
