Description | Amber was a unique project for India's Defence establishment to counteract the effects of electromagnetic pulse / high-altitude electromagnetic pulse. The 470 m tall guyed tower masts for VLF communication, designed and constructed by us, is one of the tallest military structures in the world. This massive structure, triangular shape at 8 m level, tapers to a single point at ground level. The guy wires that support the tower at 7 levels are 9 km long. There are 23 platforms. The scope also involved casting more than 80 foundations on which the masts, guy anchors and intermediate towers stand. |
