V.O. Chidambaranar Port Authority has declared itself as a 'Plastic Free Zone' and is undertaking various green initiatives including a 1 MW Solar Power Project under execution, a 2 MW Battery Storage System under consideration, tender process for a 6 MW Wind Power Project, and green methanol bunkering facilities. Feasibility studies for Wind Tree, Solar Tree, and Offshore Wind Energy are underway, along with progress on the Shore-to-Ship Power Supply project for coastal berths. An MoU with NTPC for 1 MW Green Hydrogen development is planned, and collaborative green corridor studies are ongoing with the EU and other ports.
