Description
Description | The Ukrainian economy has a high unmet need for skilled workers. The system and infrastructure of vocational training are largely outdated, impractical and not very attractive for potential trainees. The project finances the modernization of existing Ukrainian vocational schools into centers of excellence, which includes the rehabilitation of the infrastructure, the procurement of new equipment and machines, the establishment and expansion of cooperation with employers and the strengthening of the image of vocational training. The aim of the project is to offer labor market-relevant, high-quality and practice-oriented vocational training through the centers of excellence and to improve the employability of graduates. In addition, measures are being implemented in the Eastern Partnership countries in order to achieve an effect beyond national borders. The project's partner is the Ukrainian Ministry of Education and Science and the project sponsor is the Ukrainian Social Investment Fund (USIF). The target group is vocational students, who tend to belong to the poorer section of the population. Teachers also benefit from training and more modern teaching materials. The indirect target group are companies that benefit from an increased supply of qualified workers, but also from short-term courses offered to employees. The project is active in various oblasts in Ukraine. |
