The Vocational Training in Georgia I module is the first FC measure in the field of vocational training with a focus on sustainable economic development in Georgia. As part of the project, a Center of Excellence (CoE) is to be built in the construction and logistics sectors, which will offer high-quality, labor market-oriented and practice-oriented training and further education. In addition, the CoE will take on various special functions within the vocational training system (e.g. training and further education of vocational teachers, short-term courses for industry, development of innovative professional profiles, networking, etc.). The recipient of the ZV loan of up to EUR 20 million is the Georgian Ministry of Finance. The project sponsor is the Ministry of Education. The establishment of the CoE is supported by an accompanying measure of EUR 3 million. By increasing the supply of qualified specialists, the project contributes to the development cooperation programme objective of improving the framework conditions for sustainable economic development with a focus on micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), with particular attention being given to the vocational training of broad sections of the population, especially adolescents and young adults.
