Volkswagen has replaced lawnmowers with 100 sheep at its manufacturing plant in Poznań, Poland, where the animals graze beneath more than 31,000 solar panels. The 18.3-megawatt photovoltaic farm generates enough electricity to meet the plant's full power demand on sunny days and supplies about 25% of the factory's annual electricity needs. The project combines vegetation management with research into farming alongside renewable energy, studying how livestock grazing and solar energy can coexist on the same land.
