VOLT is 12 moths project that aims to foster the debate on the role of civil society to support small communities in facing world changings. It is cantered on the role of volunteering as the great tool to enforce civic engagement, active participation, equality and unite around EU values, policies & priorities, contrasting passiveness towards the EU, opposing Euroscepticism. VOLT project target will be transgenerational, with attention to young volunteers, stakeholders NGOs, civic organisations and youth workers, hard to reach groups. The copperation of 5 twin countris aim to: • Promote volunteering as a means of civic participation at local, national and EU level; • Achieve greater recognition of the value and skills of voluntary activities, also through the exchange of best practices; & Promote tools to support civil society initiatives, fostering international cooperation and EU funding; • Enrich the knowledge of young volunteers on the EU policy-making process, through the knowledge of the Europe 2020 strategy, of the Europe for Citizens Program and other European funds. • Recognise and encourage cross-border voluntary and solidarity activities in the EU, responding to the impacts of Covid 19, contrasting Euroscepticism, and bonding around common values, democracy, equality, gender balance • Foster the sense of societal belonging and European citizenship, as the members of the European communities can become actors in building up the Europe of the future; • Improve conditions for civic and democratic participation at EU level thanks to citizens ‘direct involvement in VOLT transnational event; • Recognise and encourage cross-border voluntary activities in the EU (European Solidarity Corps); • To increase and encourage mutual understanding and friendship between a diverse range of citizens at a local level.
