Description | Vostokenergo Ltd. was Ukraine's first private energy generation company established in December. It operated three thermal power plants: Luganskaya, Kurakhovskaya (both in the Donetsk region) and Zuevskaya, located in the Lugansk region. Vostokenergo emerged as Ukraine's first IPP after a debt restructuring transaction involving a liquidation of a few assets belonging to the state-owned electricity company, Donbassenergo. In March 2002, Vostokenergo was licensed by the NERC (National Electricity Regulatory Commission) to perform entrepreneurial activities in electric power generation. In 2002, all three thermal power plants were incorporated under Vostokenergo. In 2005, the power generation company was incorporated into DTEK. Not sure if it is a partial/full divestiture. |
