Description | The Wak Wak solar project is a massive Top End proposal combining a 2.7 gigawatt solar farm and a 6 gigawatt hour battery on the Koolpinyah station near Humpty Doo, about 48km south of Darwin. The project covers up to 3,400 hectares and will disturb up to 2,500 hectares of land. It is currently at the concept design stage and aims to connect to a planned high voltage overhead transmission line called the Territory Energy Link. The project also has a longer-term plan to power a hydrogen facility in the Middle Arm Peninsula industrial precinct. |
