Description | India’s largest private power producer Adani Power and Bhutan’s state-owned power generation company Druk Green Power Corporation Limited (DGPC) have signed a shareholder agreement to establish the 570 MW Wangchhu Hydropower Project in Himalayan Bhutan with an investment of Rs 6,000 crore. The project is a peaking run-of-river hydropower project on a Build, Own, Operate, Transfer (BOOT) model. Preparation of the detailed project report has been completed, and construction work is expected to begin in the first half of 2026, with a target to complete it within five years of its foundation. |
