Information Central Railway [CR] - II has come up with Wardha-Nanded Via Yavatmal New BG Line with a ticket size of 3445.48 INR Crores. This project in Railway Track sub-sector involves The current status of the project is Notice to Proceed and is being developed through the EPC route. Economic/Social Impact of the Project Wardha-Nanded new line project is a vital project for providing missing connectivity in backward areas of Maharashtra. It has been designated as a special project by the Ministry of Railways. When the route is commissioned, the travel time between Nagpur-Mumbai will get reduced drastically. More so, it will provide direct rail connectivity to Marathwada and also opens up new vistas of development in Vidarbha. Currently all tenders for the project are floated for the works on Wardha-Yavatmal section [77 kilometres] is entrusted to Construction Organization of Central Railway. Similarly, construction of Yavatmal-Nanded section [207 kilometres] is allocated to Rail Vikas Nigam Limited [RVNL]. The project was sanctioned in 2008-09. Wardha - Deoli Section [14.92 km] Commissioned on 30.08.2023 and Deoli- Kalamb section [23.69 km] commissioned on 23.12.2023.
