Description | The improvements will increase resiliency of the system and reduce risks of negative impacts to the river at the outfall to maintain compliance and move toward the objective criteria within the Environmental Compliance Approval (ECA). Specifics include Queen St and Talbot St sewer line investigation and rehabilitation, upgrade pumps, rebuild sand filters (inner metal works and media), chemical feed (soda ash) piping system upgrade, blower retrofits and ventilation (Variable Frequency Drivers and capacitors), replace compressors, guiderails at the main station, Ultra Violet System replacement, back up power for the plant in case of an emergency, outfall work to reduce erosion and restore the river bank. |
