Limits: 800’ north and south of centerline Saddleback Rd and 200’ west of centerline Washington St Length: 1,800 ft District: 1 Community: Woodcrest The Riverside County Transportation Department proposes to install a traffic signal at the intersection of Washington St and Saddleback Rd in the Woodcrest area of Riverside County. Washington St is a 2-lane arterial that travels in the North-South directions. Existing pavement width is approximately 34’ wide with 12’ through lanes and 5’ paved shoulders. There is asphalt dike on both sides of Washington St. Saddleback Rd is a 2-lane local road that travels in the East-West directions. Existing pavement width is approximately 36’ wide with 18’ through lanes and curb and gutter on both sides. The area in the immediate vicinity is low-density residential housing. The project scope includes: Widening pavement Grading Constructing retaining wall Reconstructing driveways Reconstructing overside drains Constructing overside drain pipe Installing asphalt dike Constructing Curb ramps Utility relocations and adjustments Relocating fences Removing vegetation Signing/striping modifications Installing traffic signal poles, signal mast arms, cabinets, conduits, pullboxes, and other traffic signal equipment Emergency Storm Drain Repairs Project Overview Washington St at Saddleback Road Emergency Storm Drain Repairs The construction of the proposed traffic signal at Washington Street and Saddleback Road was temporarily suspended due to the discovery of a large void under the roadway caused by a damaged storm drain system.
