Washington Street Bridge Replacement and Traffic Pattern Modification

The project involves the replacement of the Washington Street bridge over Fallkill Creek, including demolition of buildings at the southwest corner near Verrazzano Boulevard to allow for full-width traffic on Washington Street. The main construction phase includes building new foundations, installing a temporary bridge and sidewalk, restoring the arch and creek channel walls, and replacing the existing concrete barrier with a new crash-tested barrier. A pocket park is planned for the southwest corner, and accommodations for bicyclists will be added.
