Waste-to-energy plant PPP in Kufri

The project involves the design, construction, financing, operation and maintenance of a waste-to-energy plant in Kufri, in the Shimla district of Himachal Pradesh, north India. The plant will process approximately 2.5 metric tonnes of waste per day to produce high-quality renewable natural gas - Compressed Natural Gas, bio-diesel/oil etc. - through high pressure digestion under high rate of digestion of locally-sourced horse dung, horticulture waste and biodegradable municipal solid waste. The plant will also produce enriched bio-fertilizer as by-product.The developer will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, operation and maintenance of the plant, as well as of the collection of dung channels/on track and other waste for the plant. The initial operation and maintenance period is 10 years, though it may be extended up to 30 years.
