Description

Description

Rowan’s Ravine Provincial Park currently treats its sewage in a single cell facultative lagoon. The Ministry of Parks, Culture and Sport has been cited by the Water Security Agency for not having a two-cell lagoon. It’s especially important to address given it’s close proximity to Last Mountain Lake. The scope of the work entails reconstructing the single cell lagoon into a two-cell facultative lagoon complete with synthetic HDPE liners in compliance with federal and provincial regulations and provides capacity for current and future park needs. The rehabilitation components of the work include raising and recompacting the existing cell berms, refurbishing the existing concrete dump chute, lining the existing cell, rehabilitating the force main discharge line and seeding/establishing vegetative cover on slopes. Saskatchewan is a signatory to the Canada-wide Strategy for the Management of Municipal Wastewater Effluent. The design and authorization to construct this facility is subject to receipt of a Permit for Construction of Waterworks or Sewage Works from the Saskatchewan Water Security agency and therefore is subject to meeting all provincial and federal regulatory requirements.
