Description

Description

The project aims to ensure environmentally and health-friendly wastewater disposal in the western part of the city of Nablus and in the upper section of Wadi Zeimar, including by building a sewage treatment plant. This will help protect regional water resources and reduce health risks for the population in the project region. The project is being carried out in close cooperation with German Technical Cooperation (TZ) and is an essential part of the planned activities of German development cooperation to improve wastewater disposal in the entire Wadi Zeimar catchment area (see section 3.01). The project has cross-border effects and is therefore of great importance for peace policy. In addition to the main measures, funds were used for reconstruction measures for the infrastructure in Nablus after the invasion of Israeli troops in accordance with the agreements made during the government negotiations in 2002.
