Description | The District of New Hazelton (District) is seeking funding to complete a wastewater treatment facility assessment. The wastewater facility permit was first authorized by the BC Ministry of Environment in 1989 and last amended in 2006. This permit outlines allowable release rates and effluent concentrations. The approach to wastewater management in the existing permit is not consistent with the current direction in B.C. which is set through the Municipal Wastewater Regulation (MWR). This project will identify deficiencies with the existing facility and provide an understanding of what may be required, and at what cost, to meet the requirements of the applicable regulatory framework. |
