Description

Description

The aim of the ÜH project is to reduce water-induced diseases among the poor and internally displaced people in Juba, especially children, and to reduce the risk of gender-based violence. The recipient and project sponsor of the measure is the United Nations International Children's Fund (UNICEF). The project consists of four components: water supply, sanitation and hygiene, further training and capacity development, and safe spaces for women and girls, and is to be seen as an extension of the ÜH project 2016 187 68. It is a transitional aid measure in the fragile context of the renewed outbreak of violence in South Sudan. Nevertheless, structure-building effects are being pursued. For this reason, public institutions, private companies and user groups of the population in the project area are being involved in the implementation and operation of the project. The FC funding contribution is EUR 10 million.
