Water and Wastewater Servicing Feasibility Study - Assessment of Feasibility of Community Standalone System

This project will include a detailed assessment and evaluation of the feasibility of Couchiching First Nation having a standalone water treatment system and/or wastewater treatment system within the community. The importance of this detailed assessment and evaluation comes from the limitations that the community has with the current water and wastewater service agreement with the Town of Fort Frances. This evaluation will look at the alternatives of having a standalone system versus maintaining the current agreement. This assessment will help identify the next steps towards creating safe and reliable services within the community. From an off-reserve perspective, the Town of Fort Frances will also benefit from this study as they are currently supplying water to the First Nation. This assessment will assist the Town of Fort Frances with future planning exercises related to water infrastructure.
