Water Conservation and Irrigation Modernization on Almond Farm

under operation and continuous improvement

A family farm in California's Sacramento Valley has implemented water conservation techniques over more than a century, evolving from dryland farming to flood irrigation, aluminum sprinkler systems, and finally to modern microirrigation and underground drip systems. The farm uses soil moisture sensors and data-driven irrigation scheduling to optimize water use, reducing consumption while maintaining or increasing productivity. The farm also practices whole orchard recycling to improve soil health and carbon capture.
