Description
Description | The project includes the concession of Water Distribution, Sewage Collection and Treatment and Commercial Management services for users in 29 municipalities in the state of Rio de Janeiro, serving 11 million people. It is observed that the state of Rio de Janeiro is divided into four blocks, bringing together municipalities from the Metropolitan Region (RM) with municipalities outside the RM in each block. To achieve this, the municipality of Rio de Janeiro was divided into 4 regions, each of which is part of a concession block. Each region covers one or more Planning Areas (PAs), which are administrative divisions drawn up by the city of Rio de Janeiro. The blocks are defined as follows: – Block 1: AP 2.1 + 18 municipalities – Block 2: AP 4 + 2 municipalities – Block 3: AP 5 + 6 municipalities – Block 4: AP 1, 2.2 and 3 + 8 municipalities CEDAE, the state-owned company that currently provides all services, will remain responsible for collecting, treating and supplying drinking water to the private operator in 13 municipalities in the RM, maintaining the operation of the large systems: Guandu, Imunana-Laranjal, Lajes and Acari. The universal coverage targets, to be met by the private operator, are: – Water: from 87% to 99% of the population between the fifth and twelfth year, depending on the municipality. – Sewage: from 44% to 90% of the population between the fifth and twelfth year, depending on the municipality. |
