Description
Description | Perform swabbing on our current water distribution system for our entire community, which is 5 km of distribution line. This involves inserting a foam sponge or "swab" into the water main through a fire hydrant. As it passes through the water main and distribution lines/system, the swab clears any sediment that has built up inside the water main line walls. The goal of the swabbing program it to minimize the occurrence of discoloured water and to ensure customers receive the cleanest, freshest and safest water possible by removing accumulated material from the watermains. This has not been done in several years now. |
