Description | The proposed project would improve health and living conditions in several urban areas and strengthen the institutional capabilities of IDAAN and of the Directorate of Storm Drainage of the Ministry of Public Works. The main components of the project would be: (a) improvement and extension of sewerage services in Panama City, Santiago, La Chorrera and Colon; (b) improvement and extension of water supply services in Panama City, the District of Arraijan and Colon; (c) implementation of a metering program; (d) purchase of maintenance equipment; (e) provision of technical assistance and training programs; (f) provision of consulting services; and (g) rehabilitation of part of the storm drainage system in Colon. The project would directly benefit about 260,000 people. |
