Water Infrastructure Upgrades

The project consists of the installation of a new pump control system in the George’s Brook Pumphouse which will include new Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) controls, making the system more energy efficient and reliable. The scope of the work includes: - Installing a new intake pipe, infiltration gallery and screens complete with an air burst system. This will reduce the amount silt build up in the intake line. - Adding a new back up diesel generator and improvements to the existing building by adding a proper exhaust and ventilation system. - Connecting the 440m water main between the pumphouse road and Ellis Road which was installed during the first phase. The project aims to improve the reliability, energy efficiency and quality of the pumping system and water intake system. Additionally, the new trunk main and isolation valves will reduce the risk of leaks in the existing system and make troubleshooting more efficient. The Project will benefit the residents of the Town of George’s Brook-Milton by increasing access to potable water.
