Description | The Kansas City District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, in partnership with the Kansas Water Office, is conducting a second demonstration period for the innovative Water Injection Dredging project at Tuttle Creek Lake. The project aims to evaluate Water Injection Dredging as a sustainable alternative to traditional mechanical dredging for sedimentation management in inland reservoirs. The technology uses pressurized water to loosen sediment from the lakebed, allowing natural currents to carry it downstream. The demonstration will assess sediment transport, environmental impacts, and operational efficiency. |
