Water Main CIPP Lining Program

The project consists of rehabilitating existing water mains using cured-in-place pipe in the City of St. John’s. The scope of the Water Main Lining Project would be to rehabilitate approximately 4900 meters of existing water mains using trenchless techniques to install water main liners primarily in the area bound by Elizabeth Avenue, Bonaventure Avenue, Empire Avenue, Rennie’s Mill Road and Long Pond Road. In addition to this area, New Cove Road and the area north of Elizabeth Avenue bound by Elizabeth Avenue, Rostellan Pl, Prince Philip Drive and Portugal Cove Road will be considered if funds permit. The project aims to eliminate frequent water main breaks, discolored water, taste and odor issues, low water pressures and low fire flows. In addition, new water main valves, curb stops, and fire hydrants will be installed to complete the rehabilitation of the water system in the area. Is it anticipated the project would extend the life of the existing infrastructure for another 100yrs.
