Description | The Water Metro project is expanding services to Kadamakudy, including development of roads, shoreline protection, and installation of streetlights. A 1.4 km stretch from Kadamakudy temple to Kadamakudy Murikkal, where the Water Metro terminal is located, is being widened and improved with protection walls and interlock paver tiles. The access road to Paliyamthuruth Metro station from Pizhala St Francis Church will also be concreted. Additional proposals include development of the Pizhala-Cheriya Kadamakudy stretch to boost tourism potential. The launch is targeted for June 2026 but faces delays due to vessel delivery and route adjustments to protect traditional fishing nets. |
