Description
Description | The water reservoir in this ward is in a deteriorating state, if action is taken quickly, it can still be refurbished. If they wait any longer, the reservoir will need replacement and that comes at a much higher price. The refurbishment of the reservoir will include interior and exterior sandblasting, reinforcing reservoir walls, equipment replacement, and re-lining the reservoir. The wells in this ward also date back to 2012 and 2014. The wells are operating at 30% below their initial capacity. Restoration of the wells is also needed to ensure longevity and capacity of the wells in order to provide good quality water for years to come. The work will consist of having a specialist conduct pressure work in the wells to clean the filtering screens as well as the natural rock and sand formation. This work will bring the wells back to near original capacity. There will be no ground work or excavation done on site. The land has already been developed and will not be disturbed during this project. The municipality own the land and control it. This project will increase the community’s access to potable water. |
