Although the importance and desirable effects of sport and physical activity in general are inevitable and recognized, there is a gap between the needs of people and the sports available and offered today. Our lifestyle has changed intensely in the last decades. The attitudes, habits, interests, daily routine and consequently the physical activity related needs of today’s people is comletely different than 20-30 years ago. Thus a need for modern and innovative sports and training methods, as well as the education of coaches has emerged that can satisfy this completely altered need. The WSB-EU-ToT project aims to: a) Develop quality educational materials for skill development through sport b) Improve the qualifications of trainers, coaches and the staff through the education of a new sport and training method, Water Skyball (WSB) c) Introduce a new-generation sport and training method in the partner countries d) Raise awareness on the importance and efficiency of new-generation sport and training methods The project will be implemented through a cooperation of a sport federation, 2 universities and 2 sport clubs in 5 countries: Hungary, Germany, Greece, Poland, Romania. As a result of the activities implemented to achieve the 4 objectives, the following Intellectual Outputs will be developed during the project: 1) Educational materials about WSB sport and training method 2) Qualification of trainers, coaches and the staff about the new sport and training method, WSB 3) 5 Grassroot sport events including WSB trainings and an Amateur WSB Championships 4) 5 conferences as multiplier and knowledge-share events about innovative sports and training methods targeting the needs of the 21st century. The target groups of the project are: a) Staff members of the participant organizations b) Trainers, coaches, P.E. teachers and other sports professionals c) Citizens between ages of 10-75 who are interested in new sport opportunities with special focus on the physically inactive
