Water Street Culvert Replacement and Creek Enhancement

This project entails the rehabilitation of approximately 30m of an existing concrete and creosote box culvert across Water Street. This outlet to Summerside’s east end drainage area (along one of our major collector roadways) may affect 6000-7000 residents and 7000 vehicles per day traveling the collector street to western Prince Edward Island’s busiest port. Preventing the contamination of Bedeque Bay’s $6 million shellfish industry from wash outs of the structures impacted by climate change. This project involves the replacement of an existing concrete and creosote box culvert (which is at the end of its life span). Replacement of the storm sewer structure and the roadway will be included in this project.
