Description

Description

The project consists of sewer separation and water rehabilitation along Water Street from Clift’s Baird’s Cove to Job’s Cove in St. John’s. The current system is a combined sewer. The wastewater and storm water are both transported to the treatment facility. The project aims to separate the sewers into two separate sewers one wastewater and one stormwater. The scope of work includes rehabilitation of approximately 35 meters of sanitary sewer, 470 meters of storm sewer, and 380 meters of watermain. This will improve the flow of wastewater and storm water to the treatment facility allowing for optimized treatment, eliminating incidents of untreated wastewater; extend the life of the assets by 50-75 years; and improve the quality of drinking water for residents of the City of St. John’s.
