Core problem Public institutions at the various institutional levels are inadequately able to ensure improved access for citizens to decentralized public services in accordance with the principles of good governance. Module objective The population of the Straseni and Calarasi districts uses the improved water supply in terms of water quality and supply duration. Key outputs The Chisinau-Straseni-Calarasi long-distance water pipeline supplies water for 25,000 people and is in proper operation. In addition, the urban water networks in Straseni and Calarasi are operating better. Other rural settlement networks have been expanded and 50,000 additional people have been connected to the long-distance water pipeline (project consisting of several tentative phases). Target group Around 75,000 people in the Straseni and Calarasi districts will benefit from the measures within the project over several phases. Contribution to the national implementation of Agenda 2030 The improved water supply helps reduce poverty. Clean drinking water promotes people's health and well-being. Cleaner water and sanitation are achieved as a separate goal. The modernized supply networks contribute to the sustainability of cities and communities. In addition, the project contributes to achieving the goals of peace, justice and strong institutions.
