WAYCROSS MULTI-USE TRAIL & TRAILHEAD

The proposed project would construct a trail and trailhead on a former railroad corridor in central Waycross. The trailhead would be constructed north of Isabella Street on a portion of former CSX railroad Right-of-Way, an un-named city alley, and a privately owned parcel. The trailhead would provide parking, sidewalks, bicycle parking racks, landscaping, and amenities such as a pedestrian shelter, benches and trash receptacles.The proposed hard surface multi-use trail would be 12 feet in width and extend from the trailhead to Tebeau Street. Intersection improvements will be constructed as necessary at street crossings. The trail would also add landscaping, pedestrian crosswalks and signage. Right-of-way is required from CSX Railroad and one privately owned parcel for project implementation.
