Description
Description | Beginning with the exploration of individual and collective imaginaries of the future through the “Words of Europe'' project (2022-2024), the aim of Ways of Europe is to transform these endeavors into a common undertaking facilitating meaningful gatherings, “Ways of Europe”, from various locations - be it physical borders or thematic boundaries - and diverse backgrounds. The project has two key objectives: (1) to bring together diverse voices to collectively shape Europe's future and (2) to contribute to establishing structural means of democratic participation within the EU, with a focus on supporting the Conference on the Future of Europe. Ways of Europe's participatory model combines artistic, social, cultural, and emotional aspects with the political dimension, bridging the gap between citizens and the EU's project and processes. All partners act as community activators, working at local or national levels to encourage participation from individuals and communities who feel often excluded in EU discussions. The project's core activities involve organizing local and transnational events, engaging directly around 1,700 individuals, including young people, migrants, and minority groups who are typically less involved in EU debates. Outputs include cultural creations from transnational events, manifestos outlining shared visions, and an interactive game connecting project materials for future use. While primary events are planned in Italy, Belgium, France, Spain, Hungary, the Netherlands, and Romania, up to 13 countries will participate in the activities. |
