Description
Description | WEAVE - Women Empowering and Advancing in Europe is the next chapter of EWL's strategic development and growth. In the shrinking space for women's rights we want to stand with resilience and inspire growth- through advocacy for political change, capacity building for women's rights organisation and through goal-oriented campaigns which bring tangible change in women's lives. In the 2026-2028 period we will work for a reinvigorated political impetus to put Women’s Rights and Gender Equality back at the centre of the EU project. This means we will renew our current Strategic Framework and build on the European Commission’s post 2025 political strategy for gender equality that includes commitments for the European Commission, the European Parliament, Member states and other actors. We will adopt our (new) Strategic Framework in 2026 for the next five years: 2027-2031 to take into account the rapid changing turmoil world. We will continue to advocate for a gendered EU budget, a reinforced institutional dialogue on women’s rights. We will continue to advocate for a feminist economic model. This means a long term vision for an economic model that works for all – not just the few – through the development of a caring economy by investing in social policies such as health, education, child(ren) and lifelong care; access to housing, energy and food. We will continue to work on safeguarding women’s rights in the digital sphere and reinforce the communicational and policy tools we have access to fight inequalities both online and offline. EWL’s key mission and focus remain to achieve women’s rights, equality between women and men and social justice, leaving no woman and girl behind. We bring voices of women and girls into the European political arena and act as a catalyst for transformational change at national and European level. |
