Description
Description | Weave Up! is a project addressed to young textile professionals and more particularly at emerging textile designers, young graduates of vocational textile training and young job seekers from different European countries. It focuses on the production and transformation of 4 European textile materials (linen, wool, textile cork and leather) bringing young Europeans closer to the places of production, often in rural areas, and to show different sources of employability. Participants will travel to create, meet counterparts and discover know-how in Lithuania, Portugal and France. Together they will animate a European heritage, of textile but also botanical and animal know-hows. Together they will deepend their learning of the link between textiles and their territory on several levels (history, economy, architecture, ecology). They will show the importance of European collaboration, complementarity and solidarity of 3 European countries having in common these heritages and these textile materials: some of the 3 partner countries no longer have the entire textile chain linked to one material but together they reconstitute it. They jointly contribute to finding and restoring solutions to European textile problems common to the 3 countries, and whose benefit can be extended to other countries in Europe and around the world. they will contribute to finding solutions. |
