The project includes the construction of a training building and the procurement of teaching and learning materials for the Weifang Vocational College in the city of Weifang in the Chinese province of Shandong, which has a population of 8.5 million. The college is one of eleven higher vocational schools in Weifang and offers educational opportunities for 15,000 vocational students in 50 different subjects. The employment rate (six months after completion of training) is 97%. The project is part of the newly built Binhai campus with a total investment volume of EUR 75.6 million. The costs of the sub-project to be financed amount to EUR 17.1 million. EUR 15 million of this is to be financed through an FC development loan, with the majority (EUR 11.4 million) to be used to procure teaching and learning materials. The remaining EUR 3.6 million is to finance the construction of a training building. Due to the long term and the current interest rates, ODA eligibility is currently given. The project thus makes a temporary contribution to increasing the German ODA quota.
