Description | The Weliwita Bulk Water Supply PPP project is proposed to provide 100% coverage of potable water supply in areas such as Kotte, Battaramulla, Dehiwala, Maharagama, Pannipitiya, Malambe, Kaduwela and Athurigiriya and as well as Colombo city. Water supply to these areas is currently provided by Ambatale, Labugama and Kalatuwawa Water Treatment Plants. With the increase of water demand, the production of existing plants will not be adequate. Hence, it is proposed to implement Weliwita Water Supply System which can be categorized as one of the priority water supply projects in Western Region. |
