Welland Multi-Use Recreation Facility

The City of Welland is considering the development of a new multi-use recreation facility to replace aging arenas and better serve its growing and diverse population. The proposed facility at 482 River Road would offer year-round access to sports, fitness, wellness, and community programming under one roof, including four ice pads, a gymnasium, walking track, fitness area, and spaces for events, wellness services, and local business opportunities. It aims to improve energy efficiency and reduce operational costs compared to current infrastructure and is part of a broader vision to create a regional sports and recreation campus integrated with the existing Youngs Sportsplex and surrounding amenities.
