The total investment for the project amounts to around EUR 97 million, of which EUR 30 million is to be financed through the FC loan. The FC loan is to be used for modern medical equipment and for the construction of the senior citizens' facility as well as for the building technology of the senior citizens' facility and the hospital. The project envisages an extension of the existing hospital. A new hospital building with 650 beds is to be built on a site in the south of the city of Wenshan (5.5 km from the existing hospital) and equipped with medical equipment. As an innovative element, a residential complex with 630 beds tailored to senior citizens will be created. The project is an innovative pilot approach that aims to combine medical care, geriatric care and traditional Chinese medicine. The main idea behind the concept is that the medical needs of the senior citizens living in the facility can be responded to quickly and directly in the hospital, and that senior citizens with specific care needs can receive professional and appropriate therapies under the care of the hospital. The aim of the project is to improve the quality and capacity of diagnostics and treatment at the hospital and to create adequate care and support capacities for older people. The project aims to improve medical care for the general population and in particular for older people in the city of Wenshan and Yunnan Province.
