West Coast Oil Pipeline Project

A memorandum of understanding signed between the federal government of Canada and the Alberta provincial government commits to building an oil pipeline to the West Coast. The project includes enabling oil export through a deepsea port to Asian markets and potentially adjusting the coastal tanker ban to facilitate this. The pipeline project is linked with the Pathways Alliance carbon capture project and requires Indigenous co-ownership and shared economic benefits.
