Description | 94MW West Coast One Wind Farm project, located 130km North of Cape Town, worth of US$213.4 million reached financial closure in June 2013. The sponsor consortium was led by GDF Suez (43%) and consisted of other equity sponsors or Investec (34.5%), Kagiso Tiso Holdings (20%), and a local community trust (2.5%) under state rules. This consortium was selected as a preferred bidder in May 2012 under South Africa's renewables procurement programme and signed a 20-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Eskom Holdings in May 2013. This project would be funded using a mixture of debt and equity (70/30). Investec and Nedbank respectively provided the project with a US$75 million loan required for the development of the project at the financial close. GDF Suez led consortium name is not available.
