Description | The West European Coast Festoon (WECF) project designs a submarine cable system connecting Portugal, Spain, France, Netherlands and Ireland. Currently, there is no submarine direct route nor a direct maritime redundancy between these countries. The project WECF aims to provide a redundant route to the current terrestrial route connecting different countries in Europe where the increase in demand is going to be relevant during the following years. The study of the future submarine cable systems will : • decide the design of a future route with information on submarine ground path, location for the ILAs (regeneration equipment), BMH (BeachManHole) duct path; • provide the technical design of future works to deploy the submarine cable and the equipment required to lay the cable in the submarine ground; • confirm the final list of landing stations. |
