West Lorne Sewage System Upgrades

The scope of the project is to replace/rehabilitate old and/or malfunctioning equipment to ensure compliance with the regulations. The existing aeration system will be upgraded by replacing the old blowers with more energy efficient units. The cracked and broken diffusers in the aeration tanks will also be replaced. At the time that the aeration tanks are emptied for the diffuser replacement, an inspection of the aeration piping will be undertaken and any piping in poor condition will also be replaced. The existing tertiary filtration system will be completely replaced with new tertiary effluent filters. Depending on the physical arrangement of the new filters, some building modifications will need to be undertaken. The existing UV system will be replaced with a new more energy efficient model. The antiquated SCADA and process control system will be replaced with a new system that will offer greater automation and process control.
