Description | This project will consist of pedestrian enhancements along the 8th Street corridor. Beginning at the 4th Avenue intersection, the improvements will extend approximately 350 ft. where it will connect to the completed Phase 1 improvements at 3rd Ave. Improvements will continue along 8th St. for an additional 310 ft., from 3rd Ave. extending to, and including the 2nd Ave. intersection. Proposed Improvements in the project area will include: new ADA accessible concrete and brick sidewalks, improved ADA compliant grade transitions from street level to store fronts, curb and gutter with improved drain inlets, pedestrian improvements at the railroad crossing, benches, trash cans, pedestrian lighting (with breakaway design) and street trees. These improvements are a continuation of the Phase I improvements and will tie into a larger network of pedestrian connections throughout the City of West Point. |
