Description | Mill Creek is identified as a high priority in many local, regional and statewide plans related to water, fisheries, and natural resources. Residents living in the watershed relyon the creek and near-stream wells as water sources and pump water for use during the dry months, which can reduce stream flows that endangered coho salmon populations rely on to survive. The project will demonstrate methods and techniques for water conservation to the greater Mill Creek Watershed. The project will install 6 5,000 gallon rainwater storage tanks for the outdoor non-potable water needs of a school garden, reducing the amount of water withdrawn from an existing groundwater well near Mill Creek. |
